Vampire Rain Demo Impressions
So, I dl’ed the Vampire Rain demo on my 360 and played through as much of it as I could stomach. Why couldn’t I stomach the full demo experience you ask? Mind yer own damn business. Nosy bastard.
<What? I’m supposed to communicate reasons instead of expressing bias? What are you, some kind of nazi communist neo-con? Fine, fine.>
This is an almost shameless rip-off homage of Splinter Cell, right down to the noise that your vision-enhancement goggles make. It looks ok but plays like the mexican non-union equivalent.
The main problem is the vampires, or night-walkers as the game terms them, are the antagonists. Now why go to all the trouble of making a stealth game with vampires in it if you’re not going to be one of the vampires? It boggles my imagination, and my imagination is almost entirely boggle proof after I got those implants, well they’re spark plugs and its a long alcohol drenched story.
You have weapons, although all of them apart form the shot-gun are useless.
All jack/smart-assery aside, it’s a decent concept. Vampire hunters sneaking through the world in some sort of counter action to the vampires. Its execution is just poor. If the final version of the game is anything like the demo I’d give it a fairly wide berth.
