In case you haven’t been following Stranglehold news, or we haven’t laboured hard enough to illuminate you, it’s the videogame sequel to Hard Boiled. You take the role of Tequila shooting your way through destructible environments. It looks pretty good.

The real kicker though is the PS3 Special Edition (Limited Edition, Collector’s Edition or whatever the marketing drones have decided to call the fancy pants version this time around) comes with a copy of Hard Boiled, right on the game disc. Ahh, the wonders of Bluray. It’s the only way to currently get a copy of Hard Boiled on Bluray, even though it will only play on a PS3.

According to some sources (oh NeoGAF, I might have to buy you flowers), it won’t be available in Canada. Which makes me cry. Or get some guns, get covered in flour, shoot some guy and then spit out the toothpick on which I’ve been chewing.

Ok, I got the “confirmation”, it’s about the movie rights and not about that french/english thing or because the movie is Rated R. Independent dealers will probably be able to order directly from the US and avoid all that shit.

I’d give this rumour about a 65% chance of accuracy, mostly due to cynicism and tempered by unfamiliarity with the source.

I’m currently seeking confirmation on this, we’ll see how that works out.
