Bionic Commando Returns

Capcom has announced that they are exhuming their ancient franchise Bionic Commando for the remake treatment (link > ShackNews).
I barely recall playing this game, but I know I played the crap out of it. My C64 days are a kind of noxious drunken blur of sprites and blitters so you’ll have to forgive my flawed recall. I do remember that you did a lot of platform-traversal via swinging, extensible grappling arm. That was the main thing, the arm. The NES version was probably the most popular.
So naturally you’d think, ok, that’ll make a pretty cool Wii game, right? Nope. PC, PS3, Xbox 360. Why no Wii? I mean, it practically begs for that controller. Very strange. And by strange, I mean irritating.
I went looking for a screenshot of the original version that I played, and once again had a retro-gaming moment where I was simultaneously fascinated and utterly horrified by the nearly abstract imagery those games put out. I wish I could go back in time with just one Ratchet & Clank Future screenshot, and show it to my younger self, just to watch his head explode (and consequently verify that whole paradox thing).
No date on this one. Kotaku has a small gallery of early images. Looks just a touch better.

I played that for MONTHS, and it didn’t even have those few colours; only black and orange.
Compare that shit to Crysis.
