Jean Snow over at Game|Life has a post about the various “product placements” in Metal Gear Solid 4. I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call them that; they seem more like the usual goofy little inclusions Kojima-san likes to make in his games. This was my favourite: If it can actually [...]

GameInformer magazine apparently has a scoop in their print edition on what’s going on with the (strangely imminent) Guitar Hero IV. Guess what? They’ve decided that a whole band of instruments is a great idea! That means you will see drum and microphone peripherals for GH4, just like Rock Band. And considering Activision’s cockpunchingly-retarded stance [...]

While getting brushed up on my hover-racing skillz in anticipation of Wipeout HD, I’ve come to realize how much I love the custom soundtrack feature in Wipeout Pulse. I only wish it wasn’t limited to a paltry 30 MP3 files (in addition to the ones that it ships with, which can be mixed and matched [...]

Ah, Cliffy B. Two earrings? Really? Nevermind. Gears 2 looks hot. I have to admit, I never got around to finishing Gears of War, but I fully intend to before the sequel rolls around. And who can resist the allure of the rolling, soft-bodied meatcube? A more frightening enemy has never been imagined; it is [...]

Which do you think is a more entertaining use of your time? 1. Go see the Speed Racer movie… or, 2. Wait a couple of weeks and buy Wipeout HD, and just race your damn self?

I took Haze out for a brief drive last night. I’ve been quite curious to see how this one would turn out. Specifically, if it would differentiate itself in the vast sea of first-person shooters. The answer: inconclusive. I know, that’s a cop-out, but the demo only gives you the Mantel Corp troopers to try [...]

v1.01. It’s a tiny download. The game will prompt you when you launch it. I’m glad they rolled this out so fast, some of my close friends have been bitten by the freezing bug associated with PSN. Guys who really like GTA IV. I felt their pain.

Some tidbits and updates have bubbled up from the just-finished PlayStation Day event put on by SCEE, across the pond in Yurop-land. Most of these are shamelessly cribbed from the rolling Eurogamer liveblog, which is always my choice for such things because their writers are an amusing combination of bored and British. the games shown [...]

I love making fun of Infinite Undiscovery, the yet-to-be-released Xbox 360 JRPG. Besides having one of the worst titles I’ve ever heard, the plot sounds like a distilled mescaline: “In the world [of Infinite Undiscovery], the moon is where the gods dwell, and the people believe the gods have given them powers through the moon. [...]

It’s getting really hard to avoid Metal Gear Solid 4 spoilers at this point. I almost wish someone would make a plugin to censor my browsing. I don’t even want to try the Sneaking Mission they added to Metal Gear Online.
