Savage Moon impressions

Being the Tower Defence junky that I am, I had my eye open for this little PSN downloadable for the last few months. Savage Moon was developed by a small, new team named FlufflyLogic (one of which I could have sworn I read was a former Insomniac dev, but maybe that’s some other team.)
Savage Moon [...]

Retry/Continue

Something I’ve been wondering about lately is the idea of accumulated deaths.
I’ve been playing videogames since I was about 8 years old. The earliest one I can recall is a BASIC program called Hunt the Wumpus, which ran on an Osbourne 1 my dad had brought home to work on. Spanning this 26-odd years of [...]

Behold: The Greatest Console Text Input Mechanism Ever

Hey, remember Beyond Good and Evil? That was a pretty cool game. (If you don’t remember it, I encourage you to run to your nearest Xbox 360 and download it from Classics, so you can join the rest of us in fondly remembering it. There’s a PC version as well but it’s rumoured to be [...]

Nerf’s Game

Some of you may have heard of Bob, and his quest to get his homebrew DS game published.
Inspired by what is so obviously a brilliant and sane young man, with no crazy notions whatsoever, I decided to follow his lead and stage my own virtual Tensai sit-down Protest, over the lack of features and content [...]

Fun With Pie Graphs

Nintendo is sending around this pie graph extolling their (truly stunning) level of growth over the last year, in monetary values:

Pretty crazy, right?
And hey, I like pie graphs. So I made another one, which is probably just as accurate:

Badda-boom. Yeah yeah, I know, it’s a huge troll. But honestly, have you seen the Wii section [...]

Ye Olde Blogge Design

Was just doing some housecleaning on my harddrives and I stumbled across one of the first concept designs I did for this blog (dated Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 @ 11:48am). I’m shocked at how completely different it is, relative to where I ended up. This was never actually functional, it was just a Photoshop mockup.

“Did you really have to fire them?”

“… all those bullets from the gun?”

Metaphor videos. Fan-tastic.
For context, see here.
(Found via NeoGAF, who probably got it from a Twitter somewhere)

Off-topic Fridays: Your Favourite TV Shows Ever

I’ve decided to reserve Fridays as a day where I allow myself to spout off about something other than games. (Don’t worry, I’ll keep all musings firmly within geek space). Today’s topic is Favourite TV Shows Ever, as inspired by the discussion of Battlestar Galactica’s final season premiere, over at the BBPS.
Give yourself no more [...]
